Work, life balance is one of the main challenges 'working women' face nowadays. It causes stress, illness and anxiety. So here are some simple steps to help you shed some light back to the decisions made and re-dress the lack of time experience for you and your family.
Prioritize, make lists and stick to them. It's a great feeling of having crossed a lot of jobs, chores and tasks. Another idea is to do the things you hate to do first rather than worry about them all day.
Work smarter not harder? In what areas of their work might reconsider and seek to do differently? For example, block phone calls and emails while administrative tasks, and it will free up time for additional things and give your day as well as week some kind of structure. Think about what you really enjoy doing and do not have time? All work and no play makes Jack or Jill in this case a dull girl! Life is to live and enjoy so make sure you have this box label.
Do not let anyone pressure you into something that will not do, or make sacrifices that are not entirely comfortable. Learn to say "No" and always true to yourself, do anything that goes against their beliefs and values, or become extremely unhappy. If you struggle to leave work on time, set a goal to leave early one day a week and begin to catch an earlier train or bus.
Be sure to get some exercise and fresh air. You'll feel better for just out and out of the office. Take 15-20 minutes at lunch to go for a brisk walk, you'll be much more productive when you return. Sharing household chores with your partner (and children if any) or if you can afford to pay someone to do for you, then you can enjoy some well deserved "me time".
