Ginni Rometty is group executive and senior vice president, IBM Sales, Strategy and Marketing. As IBM’s worldwide sales leader, she is responsible for profit, revenue, and client satisfaction in the 170 global markets in which IBM does business.

In this role, Ms. Rometty is liable for IBM's international results, which surpassed $99 billion in 2010. Ginni Rometty also is accountable for foremost IBM’s global marketing, strategy, and communications functions.

Earlier, Ms. Rometty was the senior vice president, IBM Global Business Services. Through her term, she led the successful assimilation of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting -- the leading acquirement in history of professional services, building an international team of more than 100,000 business experts and service professionals that use information technology to assist clients optimize their performance in business.


In that post, Ms. Rometty led the improvement of IBM Global Delivery Centers in India and China, and grown personal expertise in top large-scale complex renovations. In appreciation of her headship, Ms. Rometty was pleased with the Carl Sloane Award 2006; offered by the Association of Management Consulting Firms.

Additional responsibilities in IBM’s Services business comprise with general manager of IBM Global Services, Americas, there she was accountable for strategic leadership, client relationships and operations. Ms. Rometty moreover served as the general manager of marketing, strategy, as well as sales operations of IBM Global Services universally.
Prior to joining IBM Global Services, she was general manager of IBM's Financial Services and Global Insurance Sector, where she lead IBM's business policies for the worldwide insurance market, with responsibility for sales, marketing, and consulting. Ms. Rometty also directed the precedence of IBM's Insurance Research Centers in Hawthorne, Zurich, N.Y., Yamato and Switzerland, Japan, and IBM's insurance solutions progress worldwide.

Ms. Rometty serves on the Council on Foreign Relations; the Board of Overseers of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University; the Board of Directors of APQC, a not-for-earnings business research business serving global firms; also on the Columbia Business School's Deming Cup committee, that recognizes persons for operational superiority.
