It's pretty natural for a woman to think about perfectly balancing her work as well as her family life. It is seen in a survey that, stay at home moms are less likely to get depressed than the working moms. But even the working moms who have some slack and unrealistic expectations about their family and work balance, face higher levels of depressions. The greater risk is with the moms who think that office and home can be juggled effortlessly, when her colleagues accept that they can't at all do it. The attitude, I can and I will get it all, is not the way to be happy in your life.
It is always expected that the working mothers will need to compromise on some or the other aspects which come their way when approaching either their career or their parenting. Some women say that, the family with man working outside and woman taking care of the family as well as home is much times better than the family with the working women. They thus conclude: women feel happier when they spend time with their children. According to them, the working mothers usually lead to some juvenile delinquency.
Working moms have superior mental health than the mothers who are stay-at-home ones. Also, the moms who abandoned the myth of Supermom, were less likely than the Supermom-wannabes, i.e. they wanted to become like the supermoms. They showed the depression symptoms on a greater extent. Some mothers don't find staying home as one of the best choices for them.
Balancing the work as well as family is undoubtedly a stressful thing for some women while for others the stay at home is also a stressful thing. It's also said that, the role of a parent also makes you a more patient boss. Even when you're away from your kids, it makes you feel happier. Along with all your stress, you can happily bring together your career as well as child-rearing, by just sliding away some of the things.
It is also tough to be a work at home mom, which can be a better option. But you should be able to delineate the boundary of your work and home. Apart from all these things, women really feel good being both- as an employee and a mom, despite all the pressure.
