Explain your teen the disadvantages of smoking such as heart attack, stroke and cancer they are real and beyond the province of your teen’s responsibility. Avoid giving lecture to your teen try to explain the disadvantages of smoking such as smoking gives harmful breath; it makes your hair and clothes smell, it creates your look just unhealthy and dull, it leaves you with phlegm and cough, it turns your nails in yellow, it creates wrinkles and smoking finish your energy for playing sports and other best activities. Obviously smoking is also costly; just tell your teen to calculate the monthly, yearly or weekly cost of smoking. And may be compare the cost of smoking with clothes, electronic gadgets or some other product that your teen grant to useful and important.

Set a best example in front of your teen

Smoking of teen is most common now a day’s whose parent smoke. If you avoid or don’t smoke then it’s ok. But if you smoke regularly just quit and think that if you stop smoking earlier the less your teen will be smoker. Ask the ways to prevent smoking from your doctor. Avoid smoking in the house, in front of your teen or in the car and don’t leave your cigarettes in front of your teen or where he finds. Avoid yourself from smoking and keep trying to stop your teen from smoking and explain him the disadvantages of health and how harmful it is to smoke.

Express your feelings
Teenagers learn and understand values from their parents. You must interact with your teenagers about the fact of smoking and acknowledge it to be unhealthy habit. You should not concern him specially or under pressure to never take smoking. Try to bring up smoking topic in general discussion and discuss about harmful effects and regular bad habit on person.
