It's not easy for today's busy woman to schedule workout time for healthy living. If you can't walk, run or visit the gym as often as you would like, make the most of your workouts when you are able and implement daily habits that encourage physical activity.
Get Up and Go
One of the best exercises you can do to develop your muscles and joints is the Turkish Get-Up. Start in a lying down position, and move to an upright standing position while continually holding a weight in one hand with your arm and wrist held straight above you. Then reverse the move to lie back down. This exercise increases your body's flexibility, strength and balance.
Don't Work out with Your Best Friend
Although making plans to arrive and leave the gym with your best friend is a good idea because you can help motivate each other, workout alone once you get there. You may not be able to speed up or slow down if you are keeping pace with a friend. Also, working out with a friend can backfire because you could spend more time talking than actually burning calories or raising your heart rate.
Find Exercises That You Enjoy
There are a multitude of ways to exercise, and one way to make getting fit more enjoyable is to choose one or two that you actually enjoy doing. Try a new step class or try out a Pilates session. Continue to trying workout until you find something you like.
Listen Music
When working out, alleviate boredom through listening to your beloved music. 45 minutes on the oblique can feel like hours, although listening to an upbeat mix on a portable music device can help make the time go by much faster.
Take the Stairs
Unless business takes you to the 34th floor, use the stairs rather than the elevator if it is possible. It's not all the time necessary to use expensive equipment in gym when you can work out during business hours.
Drink Plenty of Water
To optimally perform, your body requires proper hydration. Too much sweating may add tension to the cardiovascular system, decrease the hand-eye coordination also it impairs your mental sharpness. To prevent this, drink water before, during and after physical activity.
Exercise at Work
If juggling a career with home life means you can't find time to go to the gym, try some toning at work or home. Some exercises that you might try in your office, cubicle or kitchen could include squats, toe raises, gluteal squeezes and lunges
